South Shore YMCA
For nearly 50 years, the South Shore YMCA Corn Festival has brought families and neighbors together to celebrate the best of the fall season. With activities for all ages, this beloved event features fall-themed food, a corn pit, live music, local vendors, and more. Corn Festival is a signature community event at the Emilson YMCA and Family Farm supporting the South Shore YMCA Nature Center. Volunteers will help at various stations throughout the event to help ensure everything runs smoothly. Roles may include: -Welcoming guests and assisting with admissions/check-in -Helping with event set-up and clean-up -Assisting children and families at the arts & crafts table -Supporting activity stations like pumpkin decorating and haybale bowling -Handing out free popcorn -Guiding guests between locations and providing general event information -Jumping in where needed to help keep the event fun, organized, and family-friendly! You can volunteer for the full day (9:30 AM – 4:30 PM) or choose a half-day shift: either 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM or 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM

Please wear closed-toe shoes and come dressed for the weather. Most activities will be held outside, rain or shine.
If you need to cancel your volunteer shift, please email skugel@ssymca.org at least 48 hours in advance. In the case of severe weather, we may need to move the event to the rain date: Sunday, September 21 (same time and location). All volunteers will be notified by email if the event is moved to the raindate.
